1 lb ground beef

2 sweet Italian sausages remove skin

3 hot Italian sausages remove skin

3 cloves garlic crushed

1 medium onion chopped

1 whole tomato chopped

3 tablespoons fresh oregano chopped

3 tablespoons fresh basil chopped

6 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

1/2 green bell pepper remove seed and chopped

1/2 red bell pepper remove seed and chopped

1 32 oz jar tomato and basil pasta sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 eggs

20 oz ricotta cheese

1/2 cup water

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon salt or salt to taste

12 lasagna noodles

1 cup cottage cheese

1 cup parmesan cheese

1 lb mozzarella cheese

3 tablespoons white sugar

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 teaspoons salt

11 3/4 x 9 3/8 x 2 9/16 baking an

Big pot for the noodles

Directions: Over medium heat put a deep skillet add olive oil and heat, add the ground beef, sausages, green and red peppers, onion, oregano, garlic, basil, and 3 tablespoons of the parsley, cook over medium heat until lightly brown. Add the chopped tomato and cook for 3 more minutes. Add the water, 1 teaspoon salt, black pepper, sugar and the jar of sauce mix well then cover and cook for 45 minutes on low flame stirring occasionally. Bring a large pot of water to a boil add 2 teaspoons salt or to taste. Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, add the noodles and stir to prevent them from sticking together then cook it for 8 minutes. Remove the noodles then drain and rinse with cold water. Lay them flat on a grease pan. In a mixing bowl combine cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, 3 tablespoons of parsley, eggs and 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste then mix and set aside. Preheat oven at 375. In the baking pan put meat sauce, then layer noodles and put meat sauce, ricotta cheese mix, top with mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. Repeat layers ending with mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese on top, cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove cover and bake for another 25 minutes. Turn off the oven. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes then serve.
