3 Bunches of Fresh Kale  

4 tablespoons butter or olive oil

1 teaspoon salt, adjust to taste

Freshly ground black pepper, adjust to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 cup water 

3 to 4 pieces slices of  ham 

Directions: Break up the kale in small pieces, throwing out the hard stem. Wash the kale under cold running water very well. Put a large pot over a medium heat and add the water, garlic powder, onion powder, butter or oil, salt to taste, black pepper, ham and the kale then mix well. Turn the heat down to low and cover the kale to steam. Stir the kale from time to time. Add more water a little at a time if needed. Cook the kale for about 10 minutes, The kale stems will be very tender when done. Turn off the flame when the kale is done cooking. Remove and serve hot.
